Is Phoenix AZ the home of 67-72 trucks???
WOW!
I have been out in Phoenix for the last 3 days for work and have seen more 67-72 trucks on the road here than I have anywhere else in the country hands down. Everything from patina to custom to stock. Just wonderful! My treat today was seeing a minty Ocher (sp) yellow long bed toodling around downtown. Yesterdays top choice was a shortbed light blue clean hot street look. Way to go Phoenix! Keep 'em on the road.

Re: Is Phoenix AZ the home of 67-72 trucks???
I've been making the circuit out to Prescott for the past 15 years and can not get over the amount of solid rust free trucks that are still on the road. if I wasnt pulling a horse trailer every time one of those old beauties would be following me home.

Re: Is Phoenix AZ the home of 67-72 trucks???
Water + steel = rust
Dry + steel = steel Arizona = dry But if it's plastic, rubber, or paint, don't count on it being around long. Especially wiper blades. BTW: All old trucks in AZ are spoken for, and not for sale. As stated above, I hear Texas has some trucks available. |

I personally added two 71's to the junkyards of Phoenix. Was a little hard on the ol' vehicles back in the day...

Re: Is Phoenix AZ the home of 67-72 trucks???
They are everywhere down here. Everytime I come across one I try and get a picture and I have come across alot. A quick check on craigslist will show you just how many there are - and those are just the ones for sale. Arizona is a great place to be if you are into these trucks. Some people are a little to proud of what they have, but there are some great deals for project trucks as well as some good buys on restored models.

Re: Is Phoenix AZ the home of 67-72 trucks???
plastic is a LOT cheaper to replace than painted steel body parts.
Up here, a car that has been on the road for 8 years, you need a torch to take chassis parts off. In arizona, you need a 3/8ths drive rachet. Sucks to be us. |

Now if you show up with a empty flatbed trailer, we may get a little miffed! That trailer should be loaded down with seats, door panels, dash pads, steering wheels, ect. |

Re: Is Phoenix AZ the home of 67-72 trucks???
I drove out to eastern Cali. a few years ago. I saw more 67-72 in those 3 days from west Tex. to Cali. then you see here in a month. It's really cool how most of them you see are just people using them for trucks. I did see some really nice ones too.
We still have a crap load of them on the road here but they have there share of rust for sure. |
