Re: 64-66 engines and trans for sale

How much for the complete 283 w/ no trans and no bellhousing? Has it been rained in? looks to only have tape or something across the intake and dist holes?

Re: 64-66 engines and trans for sale

GMCNUT the suffix code is FI208WA,I am pretty sure the engine has not been rained in,although it has been outside the top portion has always been covered,I removed the plugs and the engine spins over freely so I dont think any water has gotten into it.If you buy it I think we could stab an HEI in it and a carb and fire it off in the shop.I could do $275 on the engine without the trans, just keep in mind you will get what is in the pic(not the HEI and carb)Hope this helps. Cool - do you have the original carb or same Rochester 2 Jet that came on it? the pics look like it might have a 4 bbl intake? supposed to be a 2bbl....I'd want to exchange the 4 bbl for a correct 2 bbl intake if that was an option....

I would be very interested in the 230/250 if I was any closer to you. You wouldn't happen to be coming west any time in the near future?

Re: 64-66 engines and trans for sale

Thanks jhrusk, I would need all the bolts and the clamps (or whatever they are called lol) that attached to the trans and bolts for the column. All my stock parts were removed when the PO put in the cheap floor shift. lol

Re: 64-66 engines and trans for sale

the linkage behind the 6 cyl is the od trans,I am going to compare it to the other set of linkages I have behind the 283.do you know if your trans is a syncronized 3sp or the standard?
