Caddy tail lights
I really like the looks of the 89-93 Caddy Deville and have considered mounting them in the rear stake pockets on my AD. I've only seen photos of them and I'm not sure if they'll fit. The length & width look fine but does anyone know how deep they are?

Re: Caddy tail lights
you mean like this type kit? I looked into it for my 55 GMC (TF) I'm not sure on dimensions for a AD but the measurements required are on the link. there are LED kits that don't need as much space.

Re: Caddy tail lights
just got a pair from the yard off a 93 deville - measures - from side edge of bezel to back of lamp housing ( lamp in place and connector on ) measures 4 1/2 inches deep @ its widest. Hope this helps.

Re: Caddy tail lights
They look ok in some fleetsides but I'd have to think that they would look just wrong on the back of an AD truck. Quite similar to all the Mustang tail lights that people stuck on the backs of trucks in the late 60's and early 70's.
It isn't always about change for the sake of change but every change should flow and blend in with the whole truck so that it's part of the truck and not something that appears stuck on or added just because the cool guys are doing it. |

Re: Caddy tail lights
I'm not sure how that would look on the 47-53 bed stake pocket it has a different shape. But here are a few pics of ones I installed. The first are 3rd brake lights rebulbed to work as running and brake lights on my AD with a 54 bed (different stake pockets). The second group is the caddy light (these are the LED type and are made to fit were depth is a problem). They were installed on a 67 step side bed in the stake pocket. Hope this helps......Jim

Re: Caddy tail lights
Well at 4.5", that would be too wide for the AD. Thanks for the info!

Re: Caddy tail lights
Yep. I got cha. The AD's stake pocket is only about 2" deep, so without some signigicant mods thy wouldn't work.

Re: Caddy tail lights
these are $7 led lites from jcwhitney that i installed on the back of my 58.
you could stack them in your stake pocket, 3 high. 2 stop and 1 tail lite. they are 7/8'' wide, 3/4'' deep and 4.5'' long. in my truck |
