Stock vs. Modified Poll
Recently purchased a '72 Custom Delux from a 68 year old man that owned it for 30 years as a second owner. Everything on the truck is well maintained and stock- even has original hubcaps. I am debating whether to modify certain items such as the A/C system to a Vintage Air 134 system (Sanden 508 compressor and brackets), which would perhaps perform better; however, it screws up the integrity of a classic. There's the rub.

Do it
That is not a modification in my book that would be an upgrade. The difference is that the a/c upgrade will add value to your truck. This is a modification that everyone will appreciate. Just my .02 cents worth

MODIFY IT. Build it the way you wish it came from the factory. Sell the original bracketry and stuff to people that want to restore to factory spec. Just my .02

Yeah, sounds like you have a nice stocker. I'd upgrade it as long as it doesn't change the original appearance of the truck you're not hurting anything.

I agree - I don't see the AC as a mod, just an upgrade. Sounds like a slick old truck. Give us some details about it...and pics!
