6 cyl to V8

Is it reasonably easy to change my straight 6 for a small block 350? I have a 350 gearbox, will that work OK and is bolt pattern the same. Its a 1980 C30 2WD pickup.
Any advice helpful.

Re: 6 cyl to V8

The only thing I remember having to do was to move the motor mounts to the other set of holes in the brackets.

Should be straightforward. Most everything should hook/bolt right up.

You didn't mention what year the truck is and what 6 engine it is. If it is the 250 you may not even need to move the motor mounts.

Re: 6 cyl to V8

Its a 1980 C30, with a 250ci. 3 on the tree auto.
Drives lovely apart from the motor being a little worn.
Am now on the look out for a 350 I think.
Thanks for the advice.
