Re: Western wheels?
White rims with the triangular cut outs are usually referred to as western rims. Those pictured above are turbine mags.

Re: Western wheels?
Western was a company that made wheels in the 70's and 80's. The ones on the yellow truck look like Western Cyclones. They made Cyclones I, and II. Here's a pic of the Western Bullet wheel. They also made slots. The American Vector which is the wheel that was on the General Lee on the Dukes of Hazard is a similar wheel to the Cyclones. Hope this helps.

Re: Western wheels?
Hey Cort I think you're talking about what we used to call "wagon wheels"
A lot of folks call all of those spoke aluminum wheels turbine wheels, and I think Western might have made one called a Turbine or someone did, but they're not all Turbines. |

Re: Western wheels?
I remember them well, they came in white and chrome. the good white ones had a small blue and red pinstripe on them. I put a chrome set on my 65 3/4 ton. Shiny chrome, big old center cap, and 8 shiny lug nuts. I thought they looked so cool. That wa a long time ago. By the way, your Suburban is looking great! I love those old things, I want another one.

Re: Western wheels?
Glad to help. Old vintage wheels are getting hard to find and pricey. Still a good deal if that's the look you want though. I have old American 200s on my truck and searched for over a year for the 2 back ones. The price was decent though and that's usually the case for a pair, but you have to be patient. Good luck.
