MILLERMATIC 175 sweet welder
for you guys thinking about a mig welder, i just got the MILLERMATIC 175 mig welder. this is one nice welder. i have used several differant mig welders, and this one is the nicest one. (not including the big money industral ones, they rock). this is the 220 volt and its the only way to go...
every now and then i actualy buy the right thing the first time.

I have a lead on a 120 volt Miller welder(I think a 110 model?). I don't plan on doing anything but sheet metal.
What are the advantages of your 220 over my posssible? |

more power just means you can weld thicker metal. the 120 is a great welder for body work. i just want the abilty to weld other things besides sheet metal.
the power thing is easy if you have a dryer in the garage. i just bought a dryer cord and wired it into a 50 amp plug. works great. i also made a short cord for my generator. just dont make a very long cord, mine is only 3 feet, dont know if id go much long than that.

miller
I have the millermatic 185 with aluminum spool gun attachment and actually would rather have my buddies 110v portable miller for sheetmetal. I dont like those ridgid power settings. Reostate control would be better.
