Total score on new dash and cover

Went to look at a dash and dash cover off of Craigs list today at lunch. It was a 79 and the dash was just like new. It looked to be originaly blue, but was painted black. It is a very nice paint job. Then they guyshows me the new, in the wrap hard plastic cover in his closet that he never put on it. Both pieces in very nice shape. $100 out the door! The best part is I beat a guy there by 3 minutes that drove 50 miles for the same stuff. The only down side is that I realized when I got home, the 79 is a little different than the
83. Above the speedo and gas gage, the 83 comes straight across so there is a little shade for the sun. The 79 is cut back. No big deal except I need a little piece of black trim to go between the bezel and the dash pad. Photos later.

Just get a 77-80 dash bezel and you won't have to worry about filling in that open space. You may have to modify the windshield washer opening a bit, but I think everything else will line up.
