67 Short Wide Value??

I found a 67 short wide that has been sitting since the engine locked up 8 or 10 years ago. It has rust on the rockers, a dent in the hood, dented driverside fender and door. Supposed to have a power glide Trans. The truck is Lowered and has the original radio and is an AC truck. I am not sure what it is worth an don't want to pay too much the guy is stuck hard on $1,000. Is it worth that?

At a grand, I wouldn't even think twice. It'd already be on the trailer. But around here they are very hard to find.

67 short fleet with panoramic back window, assuming that not every panel is rusted, I would pay $1000 for that. I paid $1100 back in 1999-2000 for my 67 shortie not running.

Re: 67 Short Wide Value??

Yeah man .. buy it. Unless it's just absolutely powder in the floor pans / supports, etc. It's worth $1k. Does it have an engine of any kind in it ? Wonder how it was lowered. ..

All that's fixable. Rockers are easy. Get it !

Re: 67 Short Wide Value??

Well I went to buy it and now he is saying thy he wants to put an engine in it so he can get more out of it. I wanted to tell him that he hasn't done it in 10 years why would he now but I just said ok and if he changed his mind to let me know. guess I should've acted on impulse and not tried to research it.

Re: 67 Short Wide Value??

Maybe he's a forum member.

Things happen for a reason man .. You tried, something bizarre popped up and is keeping you from buying it. Now it's a gut thing. Honestly, I'd steer clear of it. If he calls you, $800 because you are looking at a couple more ..

Know what I mean? Straight up, or no deal. That's just me.

Re: 67 Short Wide Value??

I went by another person's house that I knew that had anotherone and the last time I stopped by they wanted 1500 for it. But today she said 700 and that it was neg. so I'm gonna offer 500 and see where it goes. It is a 72 no AC but has quite a bit more rust than the 67. It is black and still has all the mouldings. It is an original 350 truck if that matters.

Re: 67 Short Wide Value??

A shortbed for $1,000 or less is a no brainer. Even if it's beat. What's a thousand dollars towards a nicely done truck? If you're looking for something to hop in and drive to work every day for a few years, then no. But,it would be rare to find "any" vehicle for a thousand dollars for reliable turn key transportation. If someone gave you a shortbed to build a sweet truck with, the first thing you'd do is start spending thousands on it. So,a free one you may have $15-25k into and a thousand dollar one you'd have $16-26k into. You could make up that difference in the choice of seating, wheels, etc. The main thing is to "get it",first.

If you want that '67 go and offer him $1,200. How much more does he think he'll get tossing an old motor in it?

Re: 67 Short Wide Value??

Well I ended up buying the 72 instead of the 67. Maybe they will call me back on the 67 and tell me they changed their mind. But I got the 72 for $550 so I don't think I'm hurt on it. It is a one owner but has quite a bit of rust.

Yes pics of the 72 is a must around here. Go back and get the 67 as well. You don't find either one around here for less than $2500 in scrap condition.

Re: 67 Short Wide Value??

To me if the truck was worth $500 or $1,000 is futile and foolish to hem and haw about it. You gotta figure how many people can come up with that. You are there and they are not...for now. If $500 means that much then I can't afford to build a truck. A solid body SWB highly desirable "67" is worth $1,000-1,500 anywhere. It's always great to get something cheaper. I won't argue with that.
