where should I start looking.. (hard to start)
Hey guys, I think my ignition switch is going.. but thought I'd run it by you guys and see if there is other areas I should look into..
When I turn my key all the way it wont start, sound and feels like my battery is dead. (no crank) If I let off the key a bit it fires right up. I didn't have this problem when I dropped my truck off for paint (last october) I'm switching to a push button start next week, I wanted to make sure it was the Ignition before I did. I don't want to have it not work right and not know if it was the new button start or something else.. any ideas?

Re: where should I start looking.. (hard to start)
Sounds very much like the igniton switch to me, did they take the column apart to paint some covers or somthing while it was at the paint shop?
If they did it might be that something was moved a little when it was put back together. These things wear in over time, and when put back together in a slightly moved position strange things start to happen.

Sounds like you need to adj the switch itself which is down towards the bottom of the steering column and connected to the lock cylinder with a rod. The switch has elongated holes in order to allow for fine tune / adjustment....
