Re: Going rate of a short bed?

There was one on C-list about three weeks ago within a 2hr drive from me for 400. I could not get away from the shop [to busy to leave] He sold it in just a couple of days.I would pay just about whatever it takes to get one if I need it within reason you can buy it new for around 2000

Re: Going rate of a short bed?

I paid $1,200.00 for mine in 2001 seems like a lot but it was perfect with a straight tail gate. & all the trim. cheers, Pat

Re: Going rate of a short bed?

I've seen MINT stepside short beds go for $200-400...they are a hard sell I find. Average Fleetside short beds that need some work typically around $4-500 from what I've seen. Never seen a bed any higher than that, unless it was near perfect.

Going to have to disagree, at least in SE USA it's $300+ for a good straight what you called MINT step fender and they are tough to find. Probably just a market thing in different areas of the US vs. Canada.

I could have sold mine 4-5 times, not sure I would call it a difficult sell. Fleetsides go for $600-800+ depending on condition around here.

Re: Going rate of a short bed?

Im looking at a fleet side. Sorry i forgot to put that. Im in FL and down here its hard to come across a decent fleet side or any short fleet. This guy is askin $500. Im just debating about buying this one or just putting out the extra cash and buying a whole new one. Any suggestions on the best place (quality and price) for reproduction bed parts.

Yeah, I had my stepside which was great shape for sale for $400 for a long time and nobody wanted it lol Another guy I know had a MINT painted stepside shorty I could've bought for $200, but I knew I couldn't sell it up here so I didn't. Different places across the country get different prices, that's why it's best to look on the local Craigslist within 500miles to check prices.

Re: Going rate of a short bed?

Justin - you just have to be patient. One will come along.

I saw a super nice west coast fleetside bed go for $2000 plus shipping. they're out there, you just have to look.

Check out www.searchtempest.com

It's an easy way to search CL within an X amount / mile radius. Also, you should consider becoming a supporting member of the forums. They come along occasionally on here. .. that way you could buy / sell should you see one listed.

Welcome to the forums by the way!

Justin,,,
If it needs a lot of work, sub rails rusted thur, tail gate and header board rusted thur, lots of dents? pass on it unless your going to do all the repair work your self, then it's still a close call on new repo or rebuild.

Go to some of the suppliers and add up what a new bed would cost and don't forget shipping cost.

Like cc69rat said be patient and watch here and your local craigs list.

As far as repo sheet metal suppliers, i've only dealt with auto metal direct here in atlanta and i can go look at the parts before i pick them up.

I'm a Network Admin, I type all day.

Did Tim Christian ever sell that fleet he had? The new one he had in the shop for like $1300 or so? Bolt kit, everything. Great deal for someone.

Re: Going rate of a short bed?

Down here in Florida good shortfleet BEDSIDES are worth $300 each so if you are looking at a whole bed for $500 that is not a bad price. If you pass PM me his number and maybe I'll buy it.
