Round or Rectangle Mirrors for which year?

What year trucks had the round and what had the rectangle mirrors. Im talking the single stalk mirror with three hols and the round or Rectangle head. Did they change from one to the other? I had a stainless rectangle on my truck when I got it, but wasnt stock.

If you had white bumpers, were white mirrors standard?

Re: Round or Rectangle Mirrors for which year?

All this type of mirror arms were painted,as far as I know. And,I'm not even sure if rectangle mirror heads came on trucks from the factory. I'm wondering if those weren't an upgrade accessory. I always thought 67/68s had round and 69/70s had rectangles. But,I have seen plenty of original '69s and '70s with round. Also, here are two ads showing round heads on '69 and '70 trucks

I did some more recon. It looks like the round ones were standard on all. The rectangle was an option. Dunno if it was a factory or "dealer" option

Re: Round or Rectangle Mirrors for which year?

Not sure either. But,that '70 looks like it's a CST so not standard on any trim level as far as I know. I have a '69 accessory book and it doesn't show them. It does show below eye level and camper mirrors. But,it may not have every accessory in there. Maybe they just give enough examples to fill the two pages. They also have El Caminos,Vans, and big trucks.
