Med olive and white looks best with dark olive interior in my opinion.

I love the Medium Olive interior with Parchment seat/door panels, Sandalwood steering column and dash. I may have some pictures stashed around if someone else doesn't post up.

This truck should have a sandalwood column/wheel, but I had a nice black wheel so I painted the column to match.

Re: Med olive trucks interior

I used to hate green and blue interiors...or any color for the most part. Black was the only color I liked many years ago. White was pretty cool and a favorite for custom interiors. Red was alright for sporty/flashy,too. This was in the '60s. Getting more into these trucks I started liking Parchment cuz there's something cool about a white interior in a truck...mostly now that they may not be used for work any more. But I had a ,70 CST/30 Custom Camper medium gold poly w/parchment interior that I put a utility bed on and worked out of. I had no problem keeping it clean (oil & grease are another story). I started liking saddle as my favorite color in these trucks because the vinyl is made to look like saddle leather. But,I just can't quite get into saddle with medium olive poly. You don't see it much. I think I actually like it now, just like I like green and blue interiors now.I look at it as maybe not what I would have ordered, but cool cuz it's just so out of that era. They just don't do colors like they used to and that in itself causes me to like it all, even the funkier the better. The same with paint colors. Some just scream late-60s/early-70s. I've had quite a few medium olive poly trucks. Most were black interior and a few were parchment. Both look really sharp against that paint. But that olive in a medium olive poly truck is something I've really grown to like a lot. You rarely,if ever see that interior in anything but the olives. I'd like to see a black with olive interior.

Is that the original Sandalwood dash pad, or a replacement? If replacement, where did you find it?

After looking at yours, I might change my mind.

Was yours completely custom made or did GM offer it in any of their vehicles?

Would you please tell me who made yours?

Thanks very much from So.Cal.

No it is not the original dash pad. It probably came out of one of our parts trucks, I dont remember. This is what the truck looked like before we "survivorized" it.

This is my favorite color for these trucks and there are some really beautiful trucks in this thread.

I'd like to say these pics are an inspiration for me, but mostly I'm just jealous!

I vote green interior, I had it in my green truck and loved it. White is tough to keep clean and black is too hot in the summer sunlight (when it peeks throught the clouds in the PNW).

Hey, that looks very familiar! Just about what my dash and steering wheel look like...

Sorry, I don't know how I missed your post. Mine is original. The Highlander package included the plaid seat along with a few other options, and was only available in '72. I thought it looked weird at first, but it has definitely grown on me and I love it now. There's a board member makes seat covers and can do the plaid inserts. Truckseats is his username I think.
