60/40 seat ideas
hello, I have a 1969 C/10. I removing the gas tank thats behind the seat, Would like to put a 60/40 seat in it, I have a 2 year old that likes to ride withe mommy and daddy. Anyone have any ideas, I don't mind having to drill new holes for the seat tracks. just don't want one that sits up to high and blocks the rear glass. Anyone have any pictures of there seats installed. I'd like to see them. Tell me what model there out of and the year. Thanks

Re: 60/40 seat ideas
I used a 60/40 from a late 80's, early 90's Chevy truck. I cut down the brackets a bit to get the back of the seat below the back window, but it really doesn't stick up much without cutting. The earlier seat don't have headrests and at some point they started putting headrests on the seats.....not a big deal if you are going to re-cover.

Re: 60/40 seat ideas
Not a 60/40, but this is from an 88-98 truck, stock height. It comes up right above the bottom of the back window. It's a really comfortable height.
If you slide the seat forward a little on its mounts, the legs sit right behind the raised front mount pad. Last edited by woodwright; 02-16-2012 at 02:28 AM. |

Re: 60/40 seat ideas
Thanks guys for the pictures and ideas. I like the speakes and amp mounted in place of the gas tank. I'll be using that idea also. Thanks again for taking the time to answer,,, Already put a ad in the local trader for a 80-90 chevy truck seat

Re: 60/40 seat ideas
I deffinately noticed a difference. My original seat was also worn out, and shorter than it should be. Between that and the thinner back there is more leg room.
