1971 c-10 long bed
So I have had my 71 C-10 for about 1 years and it was a complete frame off restore, smooth firewall and so on. it's been many years since I have invested any money into this truck. I'm thinking about lowering the front 3 inches and the rear 5 inches. I'm wondering will my headers - full lenth scrub the hwy and will my 15 inch wheels clear. I have never lowered a truck before so im worried about a few things. thanks in advance!! any help would be great!!

The guys over at Early Classic make great products and are very helpful, give them a call, they can provide all kinds of useful info and help you order the parts you will need:

Re: 1971 c-10 long bed
hmmm...i think Porterbuilt has a pretty good deal on Drop spindles he might have a hookup with springs also (www.porterbuiltfabrication.com) Nathan Porter give him a call, he also has a really nice notch for the rear of the frame just to give a little extra clearance for the 5 inch drop in the rear (to keep the truck from bottoming out on the axle)

Re: 1971 c-10 long bed
FYI - while you can certainly add a c-notch for a 5" drop spring for the rear you don't need it. For a 3" drop in the front I would recommend a 2.5 drop spindle and a 1" drop spring, affordable and great drivabilty.

Does your truck currently have a front roll bar?
