auto Column that uses cable to shift?

auto Column that uses cable to shift? Is there such a thing?
I have a ratchet floor shifter. I don't care much for it. It uses a cable to shift the trans, Is there a streering column that I can use that can use a cable to shift automatic trans?:

uhm...

You might want to include what year truck you have, chevy or gmc... long or short bed and what kinda engine and transmission... then maybe the folks in here can narrow it down for you.

I would go with the locar, also you can pick up a 71/72 tilt column from CPP, that is really reasonable.

Re: auto Column that uses cable to shift?

Thanks to all of you, I looked at the lokar site and it looks like you are pointing me in the right direction. I looked for CCP? site and could not find I will look until I find it. Thanks again. I will post pictures of my truck when I figure how to post them until I do you really are not missing much as far as looks, It will get better soon. Its ugly but dang it is a sweet runner.

I have a 1962 chev fleetside short bed, running a 454 motor and a 400 trans with a ford nine inch rear.

Thanks Rayday
any sugdgestions on sterring columns to use? It has the old 62 still there. I don't think the key in the column would bother me not an original guy just want it nice and neet.

Re: auto Column that uses cable to shift?

flaming river , ididit, all good basically just copy's of late 70's gm stuff. I use g body (malibu/monty/grand prix/ect) 78-84ish a few times they are simple, clean. And every thing after market like u joints shift levers fit them, and they don't have wiper controls on turn lever. also truck tilts seam to fetch huge $$$$ were car tilts not so much? i don't know why? Car columns fit well. A little more work than bolt in, but simple stuff. plus i get them for around $40 ea.
