what did you get done this week 2/26/2012 edition
My truck remains at the body shop. they work on it when they can and they painted the back of the cab and the back of the box that faces the cab.. this week they will prolly do more. I dont have a pic of it worth posting..
We did look at another project for my wife that was just too much work for us a 66 mustang which needed floors and a trunk floor so that was out.. How about you all?

Re: what did you get done this week 2/26/2012 edition
I got some more done on the truck this weekend. I am 1 step closer to dropping this engine in for good. All I have left to do before I drop it in is drill out a bolt where the trans mounts and pull out the pilot bearing on the crank.
I got my engine cover, intake, valve covers, and engine bay painted on saturday. I spent a long time masking off the intake cover to get it painted the way I want it and I pulled the tape off a little to early so I have some spots that i need to fix. I also forgot to mask off the 3 little raised areas in front of the mounting bolt hole so I have to figure out how I am going to fix that. Here are some pics of wht it will look like though: Today I got the fuel tank cleaned up and painted with some undercoating just to protect it and installed the sending unit and -6an fittings to prepare for the install. Oh yeah I forgot the picture of the engine bay. It isn't the prettiest but I am waiting for when I go through the whole truck for real to do it right.

I got the headers, pipes, mufflers, and pipe hangers installed. On the test run i melted some stuff. I rerouted wires and made some fiberglass "heat shields". So far things are going good.

Re: what did you get done this week 2/26/2012 edition
I tryed to test fit my ls swap headers and that turned into permanently installing them. One of the nuts at collector on manifold commited suicide taking the stud out with it. So not putting manifolds back on. Also had to hack section of pipe off both side to "test" fit headers. Took all day due to work interupting me half way threw. But they fit and i am happy.

Got my heads installed, got a new timing gear set, put those on (chiseled the old crank gear off), adjusted the valves (rolled the motor over by hand), smashed my thumb a few times.
oh, I also had an awesome Birthday weekend!

Finally got all the new weatherstripping and windows in after paint, then washed it. Need to finish up the exterior and then start putting the interior back in.
It looks black but it's not :-) |

Got my door panels mounted, speakers in.. then realized I need to put my pull handles on so I can close the door with the windows up... lol...
With the help of a fellow board member.. (Joe) I was able to get my power window switches working... awesome... Just need to get some black screws to swap out the ones I used to fit everything...

Re: what did you get done this week 2/26/2012 edition
Dropped cleaned and painted passenger side tank, and got it mounted again. Put the bed back on and made a new rear light harness, I now have amber turn signal and red brake light as the Swedish law states it should be.
It´s starting to look like a truck again!

Went to pull-a-part and bought a fender and rear view mirror. Finished painting the door panels and coated the inside of the truck with 4 layers Dupli Color Bed Armour

Re: what did you get done this week 2/26/2012 edition
Put in a new alternator and a new PS pump, ran a new vent and filter to my gas tank, installed a new differential cover and flushed it out and refilled it. I also added a new fuel pump and a steering stabilizer. I also found my sunglasses that I lost last week on my frame.
