Lowered front end alignment question
1968 C10 SWB
3" drop springs in front 4" drop springs in back Rest of suspension stock and tight. Talked to a local (non-chain) alignment shop today and he seemed to know his stuff related to these older trucks, but he said he might need to put longer front upper A arm bolts in to get the caster around 3.5deg. Anyone heard of installing a longer bolt? For some reason it makes me nervous. |

I dont think I'd install the longer bolt to add more shims. Allow me to plug my Alignment thread (bottom of my post). Chevyrestoguy did a nice write up on what is argueably the best way to gain more caster. Robnolimit has some great info in his "Make it Handle" thread too.

Longer bolts will work. 4" grade 8. 1/2"

Thanks BMERDOC, I has surfed for 2 days and found the Robnolimit thread but not yours, great info.
I am definitely leaning towards moving the lower arm forward 1/2 to 3/4 inch when the weather warms up. |
