Re: Here's something different on ebay

Man o man would I love to own that! That would be my '70 reincarnated only with a top on back. That's about all I'd change...cut down the top on that bed at least 2'. I don't need to stand in there. I'd put a rack on top and would rather be able to get to that easier...plus have a more slender look and lower center of gravity. Man,I set of Alcoas, overdrive transmission,Cummins 6BT......

Re: Here's something different on ebay

Ya, I really like this. My buddy and I have been talking about buying some kind of truck to use as our "shooting" rig, complete with work bench built in to take to the range. This would be pretty awesome...

Re: Here's something different on ebay

Back in my remodeling pro days I had a rig very similar to that, on a '76 3/4 ton 4x4 Silverado, with a utility body bed, and the top was removable, with a heavy duty ladder rack on the top.

Used it for my seamless gutter machine. What a rig. Could pull stumps with it, going up hill in low gear. 350 & a heavy duty ceramic clutch.

4 - 6 MPG was about all it would do, tho, for some reason. Maybe it was the fact it was hauling 2- 400 lb gutter coils & a 1500 lb gutter-forming machine, 2 - heavy-duty guys, about 500 pound worth of ladders, tools & supplies, etc, etc. Needed new tires all around every year, too. Can't imagine why..........

Re: Here's something different on ebay

I hate the bed but my first love for these trucks was an ochre/white 72 with a wood stake bed... I'd scrap the bed and put a wooden stake rake bed on it, drop it a couple inches, intall a beefed up 700R and I'd drive it all over heck.
