Looks like I get to hang out here too
If all goes as planned, I will be picking up a 63 1/2 ton chevy truck on Sunday. My friend from high school has decided to sell it and I'm buying. My friend's Dad bought it when he was 3 and it was nicely fixed up when we were in high school and after we graduated we used that thing to go on all kinds of fishing/camping trips. About 4 years ago he started converting it to 4x4 but never finished. Still have to iron out the details of all the parts that he bought for it, but at least I know I'm getting the truck. I'll post pics when I get it.

Welcome to the 60-66 forum
I agree with Mark, it's nice to have a truck from your past.

Re: Looks like I get to hang out here too
Thanks! I anxious to start on this project or more like continue on because I was also helping him convert it to 4x4.
I just worked out the details on the parts. I'm getting just the truck without an engine and the front inner and outer fenders he bought for it. Not a big deal considering what I'm paying for it. I'm going to have to sacrifice my 83 chevy shortbed tho, but in the long run I would rather have the 63 so eventually the shortbed has to go once I get the parts I want off it. I'm thinking I'll use the 3.73 axles and hydroboost from the shortbed. I have an SM-465/NP-203 and a nicely built 350 with vortec heads sitting in the shop. Once I get my camaro reliable and get rid of my 72 Ventura, I'm going to focus on getting as far as I can on the 63.
