which tranny should i use
Hey guys i got a couple questions: I just got a tranny for free and i think its a muncie, the numbers on the side of it are gm 6281888 i was wondering if someone could tell me what tranny this is. The other question is if this is a muncie should i put this in my truck or should i keep the th350 in it. Also my truck has a mild 350 and im deciding between 373s or 410s in the rear.

It comes down to the fact of do you want to shift or not? Threre will be a buyer either way is you are worried about that for later.

I think you would have better luck with help if you could post a pic of the trans in question.

It's definitely iron. I want to cruise and go fast lol which one would be better for that, I was thinking the 4speed but I don't know if it has a granny gear or not.

It's a Saginaw 4-speed. They were pretty good trannies.

Re: which tranny should i use
go fast as in accelerate fast or top speed fast? with 4:10s your going to want big tires or an overdrive.I beleive both trans have a 1:1 final drive, so as far as that goes its just manual vs. auto. Id pick the auto out of those two choices. A T56 or 700R4 would be the better choice for 4:10's IMO.
