Litzenburger Landscape trucks.
Was reading the Feb. issue of "Light & Medium Truck" magazine and read about Litzenburger Landscape. Thought I'd pass this on to you old truck lovers. Saw one of ours in their fleet. http://www.litzenburgerlandscape.com...quetrucks.html

Re: Landscape trucks.
That's really cool, seeing that they're still using them.

Re: Landscape trucks.
Thanks for showing that. I really enjoyed it. I never knew there was such a magazine. I am totally envious. I'm a carpenter/building contractor and it has always been my dream to be a small town builder using all vintage trucks and equipment. I'd like to have a Harley Servi-Car for small service or trim jobs,a panel truck,1 ton dump,K/20 with utility bed,and bigger stuff as the need arises. I'm reconditioning a vintage all terrain fork lift for a friend right now and have other friends involved in vintage construction equipment clubs. Old stuff is cool! And,as long as you have the facilities to keep them up,they still make sense...vs thousands a month in bank payments and expensive service costs.

Re: Landscape trucks.
I used to work there (for 9 summers). The trucks are awesome and are all used on a daily basis. He rebuilds a "new" one every winter.

Re: Landscape trucks.
Hi All, Thanks so much for your interest in our fleet and your kind works. I have a quick story that only readers of this form can truly appreciate ... A couple of years ago a lady called and says "Hello is this the old truck guy from Harbor Springs" ..?? Yep that's me. Well her husband had passed away and his 1972Chevrolet pick up was taking up valuable garage space, it had 9,000 miles and she wanted to sell it cheap. It seemed he had used it to tow his sailboat to Walloon Lake. I'm picturing a Super Cheyenne two tone short box fully loaded in mint condition. Now first the good, yes it did have 9,000 original miles and THAT'S IT ..!!! Rusty frame, dinged up rusted body, faded paint, base model, straight six, three speed on the column. Now for the worst part it was actually a 1973 ..!!!! Thanks again, Gow Litzenburger Last edited by litzenburger; 07-28-2012 at 05:10 PM. Reason: Need to add sentence |

Re: Landscape trucks.
Being a '73 would explain the 9,000 miles with a rusty frame. Hey,great fleet there! I never got mine past three Medium Olive Poly K/20s and a Medium Gold Poly C/30 (because I liked that color so much). I'd be happy with a matching pair now.

Re: Landscape trucks.
Welcome from Central Florida! How about picking out one of your units every once in a while and post up some pics and brief history of the truck. We love the history that goes along with these trucks almost as much as the trucks themselves.

Re: Landscape trucks.
Very, Very cool. I have thought about doing this very same thing. I would love to have a few old C/30's to use as mowing and landscape trucks. I'd paint them green and white like these too!
