Trailer-pulling actually! My dad must have really wanted to not drive this thing on the freeway! (Kinda hard to understand why he'd get 4.10's and not dual saddles )

the 79 4wdK5 I just sold got 12mpg. It had a base crate motor 350,Th350, 3.73 gears, 31 inch tires. Speedo pretty accurate.

My 75 K5 Jimmy gets about 9.5 It's 7ft tall spinning 35 inch BFG muds. Older rebuild motor. 350 Th350,4.10 gears 35's. Speedo reads a little slow might be getting just over 10mpg when you account for that.

My 88 Burb got 10MPG this last tank (checked this morning). Only owned the truck a few weeks and chasing problems. Found 4 bad plug wires on it yesterday. Gave it a full tune up and new O2 sensor. See how it does this next tank. I want 12-13 out of it. 454,TH400, 3.73 gears, 235/85x16 (roughly 31 inch tire). Then I might look inot a Gearvendors OD. See if I can get it up to 16mpg with OD. I know 350 FI OD burbs can pull 18 hwy.

Just bought a GPS last week and going to get a good GPS millage reading and recheck the 75 and 88.

Currently about 4 mpg.
350 bored 30 over - CompCams 270H Mangnum Cam - World Products S/R Torquer 67cc 2.02 intake 1.60 exhaust - Performer RPM intake - 750 CFM 4 barrel Edelbrock that runs a tad rich - 10:1 compression. TH-350 - 2.73s - 31x10.50

Really need to get that Edelbrock leaned out. Its so rich I can stain the drive way/ side walk or anything in the way of my duals when I start it up. lol Yeah and I cant use 87(1.25), 89 sometimes but it really likes Sunco 94(1.67 gal).

Gotta love those 305's, eh G-man...

Haven't checked in a while, but last summer - low 20's on the highway and upper teens in the city.

10mpg. No matter what I do, it is always just 10. Unless I put it at WOT - then I can just watch the fuel gauge like a stop-watch.

Stock 305 - 3.08 gears - TH700R4

19 mpg with 4.10 gears and 700 tranny! That's with a 6.2L diesel pushing it down the road.

In it's previous life, my truck had the stock 305 w/TH350 and 3.42 gears. The best I ever got with that setup was 12 mpg.

so i calculated my milage today - a nice round trip commute to work and back is 50 miles mostly hiway. i figured i am getting just around 10 mpg. i guess i am a little shocked.

my 1973 chrysler new yorker brougham 4 door boat with a 440 4bbl gets around the same maybe a little better even. i would have guessed that my 1977 c10 with a lighter body and smaller engine would definately drink less.

i am guessing that this is attributed to only having a 3 spd trannsmition.... any ideas? from reading all the posts here i can see what i am getting is average.

it's a stock 350 w/ 60k on the rebuild. it has a t350c tranny - only non stock item on it is the flowmaster.

i don't know - i am thinking it may definately time to think about upgrading to a tranny w/ OD.

any thoughts or insights are welcome.

cheers,
scott

Riptide, your right, from gas station to gas station thats when I get to drive it!! When your gas gauge dosen' start to go down until it has 5 gal. left it goes to empty very fast. I have only been able to but in 14 gal. when it runs out of gas, so we keep it filled up after a 100 miles
