Hi all! New 72 owner checking in
Hi all,
Thought I'd introduce myself and my new to me 72 GMC 2500 Super. The story starts out with plans to build a shop. So the wife and I bought a new house last year and we need to build a pole barn style shop to house our stuff. We had a 99 1 ton diesel pickup that we use to pull a travel trailer with but we don't do that anymore. But we all know having a truck is a necessity. I thought it might be a good idea to sell the 99 truck, buy an old truck with the proceeds and build the shop with the extra cash. That way we don't have to pull a loan. So that's what we did. So I picked up this cool Mustard colored pickem up that my wife lovingly designated the "Turd". She's got a 350, auto, posi and isn't pretty but not too bad. Of course my wife thinks its just a work truck, little does she know, lol. So that's it. She'll need some work done but she runs just fine. I'll slowly start fixen er up after my other projects are done. Oh yeah, the old owner did give me all the trim pieces but they are pretty messed up. So I haven't searched the forum yet, sorry, but who is considered to have the best replacement panels, sheet metal, etc? Here she is. |

Re: Hi all! New 72 owner checking in
Welcome aboard from Central Florida! Looks to be a solid GMC with AC, very cool. As far as parts and panels go order catalogs from everybody LMC, Classic Industries, Classic parts of America, etc. they are free. Check the vendor's section and try to deal with them first, they "get it". You can be a subscriber here for $25 and buy and sell parts on the board, highly recommended.
Congratulations on a good looking truck.

Welcome! It's good to see more from the Northwest. Congrats on the truck AND the "storage" shop. I've seen some very nice "work spaces" set up in some
