Re: insurance?!!!

if ya saved receipts, I'd start there....kinda hard to put a price on your labor too....what kind of insurance are you going for? Classic car thru Hagarty/ Grundy? or regular insurance thru Allstate, Geico, etc??

Re: insurance?!!!

My current carrier "Nationwide" allows me to put a verbal value on my burb.
Now I am sure I was pretty conservative with my number, so I think if it got to be crazy they would want an independent appraiser to give a true appraised value.

Best thing to do right now, is to ask your carrier what is the max they can insure it for and go from there.

Re: insurance?!!!

Have it appraised, and provide receipts. It'll cost some up front money for the appraisal, but will save you in the long run should the unspeakable happen... I made most of my money back on a bike that was totalled (still had all receipts as it was only on the street for 4 days after a complete rebuild) and lost my ass when my plow truck burned because I had nothing to show for proof.

Originally built by my Dad & Brother in late 90's early 00's. I bought the truck in summer of 11; dad & brother put new box sides on, and surprised me with a new paint job. Jan of 12 the float stuck in the carb and she burned... The truck is back in MI now and being re-built AGAIN by my Dad & Brother.

Re: insurance?!!!

I've got all my collector cars/trucks with Haggerty. You set the value and price is very........reasonable. If you have a claim they will pay. I've got 4 vehicles $20,000 to $60,000. $770 a year full coverage. Check it out!!!
