transmission crossmember problems
i have a question yall maybe able to help with. i have a '64 c10 and has a 3 speed on the tree in it now. i have a muncie m22 and the stocky crossmember won't work. ive seen the replacement one but they are advertised to convert to auto... can yall help... thanks Josh

you do not meed a crossmember under the trans. just bolt it in, in place of the 3 speed. you may have to do a little d/shaft work is all

I agree with Ron. Just leave the original bellhousing and crossmember in there and hang the Muncie on the back. If you feel you need to get rid of that bellhousing and crossmember, then just get yourself an auto trans crossmember from a '63-'87 truck. The crossmember for an auto trans, along with the trans mount itself will work just fine for that M22. You'll just have to drill some holes to bolt it into the frame.
