need a value guys!!! 69 swb
1969 chevy 2wd short wide. 6 cyl. 3 on the tree. This is a true barn find. 1 owner. I sell for John Deere and going through a guys old cold storage building he showed and offered me this. 88,000 miles. runs and drives. The BAD: dent in grill, painted bumpers, rust in rockers some floor (need to further inspect), 6 banger, 3 on the tree. The GOOD: short wide, 1 owner, straight as a mother effen arrow. what does one do?

What's the deal? Is he wanting to sell it to you but you have to give him the price?

Re: need a value guys!!! 69 swb
$3,500 could be fair. We would really need pictures first. It would probably be on the high side. You probably will have a lot of mechanicals to go through to make a barn find a true safe driver.
Too bad on the 6 and 3 on the tree. I have a 292 and love it. 3 on the tree is unique and cool. IMO if it runs and drives, leave it in it until it goes bad.

Re: need a value guys!!! 69 swb
i agree it is high. Kinda of what he was leaning towards. only reason i would consider it for that is for i live in north dakota and short wide beds are so hard to get. I have now a 67 short wide bed i bought on line and not so much what the seller said it was. A LOT of work. rotted and bondoed up. so this may be a better option for me. I mean this thing is straight inside the the box looks like new. Is 3500$ top dollar. He seems to think that is the lowest he will go but wants it to stay local and knows i have plans for it not just get rid of it. thanks guys.

Re: need a value guys!!! 69 swb
We need pics! really depending on rust for me but heck 88k miles! 3500 seems fair. I would offer less just don't offend the seller with an $800 offer but you never know...

Re: need a value guys!!! 69 swb
low balling with this guy will never work. this guy has no reason to sell beside to make more room $$$ not a problem. pictures could be had but if i go back to the farm for pics he will just wonder. for what i spent on the last 67 i shouldnt be so questionable but i reallllly dont need another project. im only 29 and just going to get married. the future wife doesnt really understand my addiction. she says a 01 trans am and a 67 c10 is enough. so we are all in agreement 3500$ is dueable??? oh and its dark green white vinyle top. white rims and bumpers.

Re: need a value guys!!! 69 swb
We all know body work is the most expensive part of the build. If it's truly rust free, then $3,500 is an OK price.
Can you sell the 67 to help justify the price of the 69? Unless you have really long legs it will be tough to drive both at once anyway.

You don't have to low ball him but you don't have to pay full price either.

Sold this 69 for $4500. Sounds like a comparable truck. Original paint would be the deal maker or breaker for me. Sharpie

Re: need a value guys!!! 69 swb
My last 99% rust free '72 SWB I bought was around $2gs I think. Most I've ever paid for an old truck haha but it was worth it. $3500 is deff on the high end for a barn truck cause there's a LOT to do to it to make it road worthy. It'll end up being a $5g truck easy by the time you get it on the road, and on the west coast you can get modified, redone, painted truck for $6gs at the right time and place lol
So depends on what you want and how patient you are. And if you can sell what you have already to make it worth it. Nate

Re: need a value guys!!! 69 swb
well ended up buying the thing.... took long enough. Ended giving him 3 for it. Hopefully go through the fuel problems, change fluids, and check brakes and drive it for the next month (back roads that is). Trying to get picks to you guys.
