Whoa Nellie!!!

I have a bad wheel cylinder on the right rear of my '72. This is my first attempt at replacing one. I Removed the wheel and drum, retainer springs, brake line and two screws in the back holding the cylinder in place. The cylinder still won't come out. Does the large bolt at the top (that the retainer springs attach to) need to come out as well? What about the bleeder fitting on the back?

Re: Whoa Nellie!!!

Pull the shoes loose from the cylinder at the top and tap with hammer, it should fall out. the bolt does not need to come out.

Re: Whoa Nellie!!!

Ok thanks. I guess all I needed was the hammer tap. LOL. Oh well, live and learn. I hope to get it changed today.
