newbie with a 67 GMC LWB rat
Hey guys Im new here but I've been snoopin around for a couple years. A few weeks ago I drove down to Las Vegas and picked up my Dad's 67 GMC C10. Dad passed away last July very unexpectedly and since I am the only one in the family who shared his love for cars and trucks I didn't even have to fight to get his truck. The paint was very close to stock color but was a single stage repaint with about 10 years of Vegas sun damage. If you touched the truck it passed its color onto you. I have lots of plans that will have to wait for more money but heres how it came home.

Re: newbie with a 67 GMC LWB rat
As I said earlier I have lots of plans but I just started my own contracting business so money is tight. I had to get rid of the nasty paint. I doesnt look to bad in that last set of pics but it was very, very oxidised. For now Im going with a mix of rat rod and patina.

Once I got the satin black on I knew I wanted to do more. Back in grade school I started earning a nickname that was given to me in highschool, Rattle Can Randy, I guess some things never change

After things dried in the sun for a couple days I did some wet sanding and shined up the chrome and such.

Well thats where things are for now. She's no show rig but I like the look. I need to make a trip up to Spokane soon. My buddy up there has a set of bumpers for me. I hope to get some bigger wheels this summer and get this thing on air but that all depends on whether I can land enough work

Welcome from back in Las Vegas... Looks like a good start. Can you post pics of the, what looks like either, emblems or vents on the front fenders?
