Fuel filter location?

70 C10 build -- prostreet addition

Have fuel cell located in the rear of the bed (within bed, not under) and now getting ready to run new fuel line from tank to Fram canister type fuel filter.

Looking for ideas on where to mount this fuel filter. I have plenty of room to mount it along the Pass frame rail but I am concerned about heat from the exhaust creating vapor lock. If I mount filter on inside of frame rail, there is maybe 2" between exhaust and filter.

Thanks, great site BTW, lots of knowledge here.
