Is your truck safe?

i park in the same place every night and have never had a problem...until last night. i hate them stupid drunk college kids. i have no clue who did it and no leads. the cops didnt help any of course. the college kids took my roommates golf clubs out of the garage and started swinging them at my pickup. not sure if the cops could have print dusted the clubs but they didnt seem to motivated anyhow. anyone know anybody in Grand Forks ND that does a good job with windshields on these pickups? luckily it was just my DD not my 68

That's crazy! That is unheard of around this area. I guess that stuff does really happen. Hopefully someone saw it and comes forward. I bet the people who did it will be bragging to other people.

That really sucks! Auto Glass and Aftermarket, on Gateway Drive does good work, I'd give them a call and see if they can do it.

Re: Is your truck safe?

People wonder why so many communities are gated, there are exclusive clubs, and private property. It's because jack arses like these don't respect other people, and their property.

Sound like someone knows something. Anyway how did they gain entry to the garage? Anything else missing or damaged? If you don't have comp on your truck homeowners or renters insurance may cover it. If an adjuster does a claim make sure you have included a detail to remove all the broken glass inside and out.

Re: Is your truck safe?

Drunk college kids? Looks more like disgruntled girlfriend or something along those lines. Anyone that would stay and continue to beat the same vehicle seems emotionally motivated. Having been a drunk college kid I couldn't imagine randomly picking a single vehicle and sticking around to do that kind of damage.

Re: Is your truck safe?

Take a photo of the truck and go down to the college where the message board or kiosk is located. It's usually where rentals and for sale items are posted on campus. Pin up the photo with a reward on the message board and see what happens.

Wink Re: Is your truck safe?

Well I don't care if it's a DD are a show truck it's was wrong and I'd be waiting for them next time. Cops could care less about peoples stuff. It's not worth there time and effort to do anything when they know the court will let them go.

I pick & choose where my truck parks even here at work at the nuclear plant with Security guards I park on the end of a row and if possible the farthest I can from other vehicles.
I don't leave it outside at home anymore either. It stays in the garage if one of them is outside it's the 08 Tahoe.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

If not, I feel sorry for you.

Guns don't solve anything at all whatsoever.

It's very bad that the truck of the OP got badly damaged, but it can be fixed.
Nobody got hurt and no life was lost, so to respond with a gun is just plain stupid.
Guns don't replace brain power, so if there is any left, use it.......................
Just my 2 cents.

Re: Is your truck safe?

Just replace all the parts they destroyed when you can and just be thankful they didn't steal it and set it on fire or, damage it beyond recognition! Just punks doing what punks do. Sorry this happened to you but it could have been really bad. As said,no one was harmed and no need for the gun to even be in your thought process. Cheers, Pat

Re: Is your truck safe?

I wouldn't even waste any effort trying to figure out who did it. It will just infuriate you even more how inept the system is when they released (if they even bothered to arrest him) only to do it again but more thorough as revenge .

I had a neighbor who had made a living since the age 16 robbing people. He would be 43 this June if he had made it that far. The legal system did not even bother with him, He was caught at least 15 times and not one arrest, no time served. Only time he got arrested was when he hit and paralyzed a kid driving high on dope. He lost his drivers license about 4 DUIs ago. Cops wouldn't even respond when I called them as he would drive off to do his stealing each night.

With that said he was shot and killed last year robbing a 85 year old man at gun point 5 houses down the street. I feel sorry for the man that shot him. But honestly people probably sleep better in my neighborhood with him gone.

Please don't get this thread closed because of starting a pissing match. Calling another board member dumb or brain dead or implying that he is IS BAD TASTE. Around here guns are used for hunting, fun, and protection. I myself don't feel safe without one, I hope to never have to use it for protection and never would even think about shooting at someone unless it was the only choice. Killing someone over a truck would be way excessive I agree but the poster of this comment I'm sure is mearly joking.

Nobody implied anything about killing anybody...here in MS a 12 gauge loaded with rock salt protects everybody's yard and that is why you don't see things of that nature happening down here
