Guys...Just purchased this truck out of Pheonix and realy want to pull the small block LS6 and put in a big block 1970 LS6 454 sporting 074 aluminum heads and Crower Fuel Injection that's been converted to EFI...I'm torn between the two...Whatcha think ??

Wow!!! Your truck is bada**!

I think the Big block with the injection would look sweet and really go with the look of the truck. Fit right at home with the color and wheels. I say do it.

Yes indeed, big block. It would look right at home with the style of the truck.

Though I would love to have the new LS motor in my truck, that BB fits your trucks personality better.

Thanks for the input...Like the LS motors for reliability and driveability but love the old school look of the LS6 and injection...

Re: 66 Bagged 66 with ...347 cu-in LS6 or 454 cu-in LS6..??

i would be curious to know how streetable the efi converted crower setup is when you're done. I am assuming it's of course much more streetable than before it was converted, but that's not saying much either. Probably a major improvement, but still I'm curious.

Love the LS. Love the big block. But I HATE cutting holes in hoods (personally). Did it to my 57 chev once and regretted it. Having said that, I agree with the folks above, the bb definitely fits your truck's style (and if the choices were single 4 barrel bb vs LS, I'd take the LS over the bb - but since the injection setup is such a match for this truck, you pose a great question and I vote bb also because of it). All you need is a straight axle, moon tank, and to raise it back up a foot and you'll have a true gasser!! (just kidding, pls don't do that).

Haven't seen this truck in a while, nice to see the new home it found is now a member. Welcome and congrats on the new very, very cool truck. Can't wait to see the progress.

That truck is really cool,I hope to continue to see it on the board,I am doing a build similar to yours because the first time i saw it, it blew me away.i think ls motors are a very good engine and make crazy power, but it is hard to beat a big block. Either way you cant go wrong in that truck. I also noticed in one of your pics you have an ATM machine so that definitely helps with whatever you decide.

I would say which engine depends on just how streetable the big block is, and how much you want to drive the truck. While the injected big block does fit the look of the truck, and is also very cool, driving much it may get old in a hurry if it is on the radical side.

Cool...Jeffs truck! Love the big block idea! That motor is prettier than the truck...a marriage built in heavan...or Canada i guess.

Glad it went to good hands and is getting attention...

Wish I had an atm in my garage! haha

I have always liked that truck.....

Keep the LS if you want mileage and reliability, run the 454 if you want the in-your-face effect.
Man, that's a tough decision. I really like BOTH choices!!

Smile Re: 66 Bagged 66 with ...347 cu-in LS6 or 454 cu-in LS6..??

The LS will be on the market as well as the overdrive...Thats if I install the 454?...Working with Porterbuilt on getting the mounts for the big block and seeing how it will fit...I can cut the stacks a bit if needed rather than cut the hood, but won't hack them off too short...Takes away from the look I'm after...Still undecided...I'm sure the LS will sell if I go big block, anyone interested thats not too far away ?

Thanks for everyones opinions..
