A couple things
Aright well first of all i finally got my new roof which had some surface rust put nothing bad
Hopefully i will be able to weld that in place of the roof i have right now which has some hard rust spots secondly i was wondering if this is considered patina Another thing which got my attention was when i took down my transmission i noticed a marking on top of it which was QA or OV im not sure and lastely if any one could give me more info on my trans and what kind it is P.S Sorry for so many pictures and not knowing how to make them smaller

one more question is what is that sensor or electrical thing that is sticking out of the side of one of the gear shifting things

I think that may be a syncronized 3-speed and the switch may be for a reverse light??not for sure though. Looks like you have a little work in front of you on the roof rust, good luck and stick with it.keep us posted.

thats a saginaw 3 speed for sure but dont have a clue on the paint markings

Casting dates ,,,feb(B) 3 and feb(B) 27 and 1960(O) or 1970(O) ..The only reason I discovered that the 4 sp in my 63 was a 67 (and not a 57) was the presence of the reverse light electrical connector (introduced in 67).
So, I'd say ..late '70 or early '71. And yes its a saginaw as 'bama63 said. The production line marking could have indicated that it passed a particular inspection or possibly a code for what gearset to put in it. Hope that helps T

Thanks for the help.... so the electrical connector on the side is for the reverse light?.... how would i get that hooked up?
