Help with mysterious idle issue
So ever since i got my 69 running it has had a low (500)ish idle "no tach". I did a compression check yesterday just to make sure everything internal was ok, I started on the front cylinder on the passanger side head and and worked my way back. When i got to the third one back the plug wire broke and the little clip was still on the spark plug. So i went ahead and replaced all the plug wires with AC Delco wires and now my idle is higher (1000-1100)ish. Just going off of sound. Its high enough i can let the clutch go in 2nd like its the granny gear.
Has anyone else had this issue before? Maybe i was running on less than 8 cylinders before and now all 8 are firing and the idle needs to be adjusted? Any help will be much appreciated. |

Re: Help with mysterious idle issue
might just reset the carb, check timing, and give it a once over, and reset the idle screw... good to here it was simple....
