aluminum high flow or regular water pump
Hello everybody, hope everyone is doing great. Ok, I need some advice. I have a 72 Chevy C10 and I want to replace my original steel water pump on my lightly built 350 with a polished aluminum pump but I'm not sure if I should get a high flow or regular pump. My motor runs nice and cool with the original pump and I don't tow or race so would a regular aluminum pump be just fine or would the high flow still be better? I hope I didn't make anyone go to sleep with this story...LOL. Thanks, George

Now that my nap is over I'll answer. Just kidding the high flow would be great if the price is'nt much more than the replacment. Without making a ton of HP most stock replacments will do quite nicely. Like I said if the price is'nt much or a concern go ahead and get the higher flow because it will cool more but it may take more power to turn it so you may need to check into that aspect

I knew my story would make someone sleepy..LOL. Thanks hugger for your reply. I've been looking at aluminum regular and aluminum high flow and the two I've been looking at is just a 11 dollar difference. I think I'm going with the high flow.

Re: aluminum high flow or regular water pump
Hello ole dollor, the old steel pump is still working good but it has allot of surface rust. I have a few new polished aluminum parts on my engine already and I just love the way polished aluminum looks. In time I hope to have many more aluminum parts. I'll keep the old pump on for now but I just gotta have an aluminum one. Thanks ole dollor for your reply.

Re: aluminum high flow or regular water pump
I went with the Edelbrock Aluminum replacement pump...I really like it, It keeps my LS7 cool and I ran an electric drive on my cast iron stock pump(dont do that it will run hot). And it still looks new like the day I put it on. I would buy another. Thats my vote.
