jim-bob, This link goes to board member jays68yak truck. He made a custom scoop and I thought you might like to see it. The hood scoop fun starts on page 3, post 54.
I like the way these trucks look with cowl induction hoods. Good luck/have fun with yours.

Re: 67/68 with 2" riser cowl induction hood

Mine. I still like it, but if I had to do over, I'd kept the stock hood.

I hope thats enough angles.

Overall, the fit was pretty decent, but my bodyman still had to do some massaging to make it work good.

Re: 67/68 with 2" riser cowl induction hood

Here's mine. I like the cowl hoods on short beds and some Blazers. I think they make a long bed look longer. I have one of each and the cowl hood is on my 68.

Re: 67/68 with 2" riser cowl induction hood

..thanks Matt, great pictures..sure gives me alot to see and decide..I think a 2" cowl looks great on the slanted hoods if that's the route you going..You said you would stay original if you had to do it over..why is that?

Basically because of this picture. I don't post it often because it's not a great pic to start with, but if you look at the truck from this angle, the stepsides have such perfect contours and dimensions(IMO) and the cowl on the hood just adds an extra dimension that seems to throw that off, especially since I kept the exterior basically stock(other than paint color) with the stock style mirrors, badges and trim.

For the most part, this is really just me being picky. Overall, though, it's just that as I've matured in age, my taste in classic vehicles is leaning more to keeping the body lines and panels to factory dimensions, because they really kinda nailed it back in the day.

Re: 67/68 with 2" riser cowl induction hood

I agree with Matt...if I had to do again...I would go stock hood....for no other reason than I like the stock look (hood wise anyways)

Re: 67/68 with 2" riser cowl induction hood

Here is my 68 4x4 LSS, my 1st truck that started this addiction in 2002 when i was 18. and my 72 swb 1st frame off my 68 crewcab duramax project and a 67 suburban we sold. I will never go stock on the hood every truck i have has a cowl hood or is going to get one. I need to order a cowl hood for my airbaged blazer next. (cowl hoods all the way)
