Changing the look: Chevy to GMC grill

Hello, I have a 1999 Chevy 2dr Tahoe. I am about to make a full top off convertible and some other changes... one I was considering, is changing to the GMC grill. I prefer it and every time I see a truck I think looks really sharp, it's usually the GMC grill that draws me to it.

Is the radiator support the same on these trucks? I was thinking of buying one of these grill and headlight kits on ebay, like 7 pieces... Thought if I buy the GMC package, I would have 90% of everything I need to change it over.
The early trucks you could go either way… easily.
I’m not even sure the fenders are the same one to the other on these new style.
Anyone else done this conversion? Thanks

Re: Changing the look: Chevy to GMC grill

to our world!

When I want to know some basis parts info, I like to look at LMCTrucks' on-line catalog. If the part number for a given item is the same for both product lines, or if it says "Chev/GMC", then you know it fits both. It's an easy way to figure out if you can, or if you can't.

As for the GMC grille on a Chevy, it's been done. A '94-98 grille for the pickups will fit your Tahoe w/o issues.

There is/was a company called LateModelRestorationSupply that sold parts for a number of late vehicles, including this body style. They had bowties that you could use on a GMC grille, if that was your preference. I'm giving it some serious consideration myself.

You can change to a 94-98 GMC grille no problems all you will need is a set of GMC marker lights. They are different than the Chevy marker lights.

Re: Changing the look: Chevy to GMC grill

Outstanding advice on the LMC Truck parts catalog... been out of touch with some of the tech stuff on the later model trucks... my generation was the 1972 full top off Blazers and into the early 73-75 Blazers... Really missing that era, but like the drivability if the new ones... so off with it roof.

Thanks again!
