Flying to buy my first Blazer!!!
I am so excited. On Monday I am flying out to buy my first K5. I have been searching for months. It is a nice solid truck with minimal rust. I am getting a great deal. I am going to pick it up and drive it 14 hours home. Wish me luck. I will try and post pics when I get it.

Re: Flying to buy my first Blazer!!!
That's great. Take your time. Check all fluids before leaving along with air pressure. Watch gauges and listen as you drive. Check oil when you stop for gas. You won't know the vehicle and a 14 hour drive is a long ways to drive a 40+ year old vehicle. Post some pics as soon as you can and have a safe trip.

Re: Flying to buy my first Blazer!!!
Hey everybody.
I am sure this tale of deceit and luck will mystify your minds. This isn't based on a true story It is a true story. Saint Louis Mo 7-2-12 4:30am I on my way to the airport to fly to Colorado Springs via Denver. I get to airport go through all the security stuff and realize that I left my credit card with my wife in the car. Oh well I have my business card. I get on the plane and now fast forward.... Colorado Springs Co 8:30am My flight is actually early! I go get my bag and head to the Taxi. I am heading 45 min to this K5 http://cosprings.craigslist.org/cto/3109293918.html I get there and I fire it up and everything looks great. I hand over the cash and go to get my plates from Missouri and I forgot them. Fast forward a bit and I am driving away like half a mile away I hear something and stop and get out and there is oil pouring from the fuel pump. I get it back to this guys house per his direction and I get most of my money back and a ride back to the airport. I am sitting in a restaurant in the airport talking to my wife trying to figure out the cheapest way back and we start looking for another Blazer in or near Denver. Well Luck will have it and I found one that was just listed. I call the guy and make an offer and he takes it. I go get another cab and head for Denver. I get there and this thing is CHERRY. (for the money) I hand over the cash $2500 and start driving. Long story short...too late I know. I'm home and it was a hot fun drive. Pictures tomorrow. I don't have any and it's dark and I need to figure out how to post them. Thanks for reading and you will see pictures tomorrow! |

Re: Flying to buy my first Blazer!!!
Happy 4th of July everyone. A special thanks to all that have served I Thank You for my life everyday!
Moving on everyone wanted pictures....here they are some of the drive and the Blazer. Its a 1972 K5 I'm the 3rd owner. It had a camper on it that the previous owner used up until 5 years ago. He junked the camper. It has 163000 mile on it and 52000 on the 350 bored 30 over. The clutch was replace at the same time. It has had the rockers replaced and the drivers side door. (from a truck not a repop) It was hit on the drivers side rear but not bad. The PO also said that it has a locker in the front. Last edited by Pife; 07-04-2012 at 10:04 AM. |

Re: Flying to buy my first Blazer!!!
Looks solid. How was it on the drive.
I bet with some rubbing, you can get most of that paint fairly shiny again.
