Dropped with 4 spd?
Hey I was curious if anyone is running a factory 4 spd trans in a dropped C10 or C20? My 4 spd hangs way lower than anything else under the truck. I am not sure if it is that way normally or if it has something to do with the SBC that was put in it. I assume by looking at it that I will need to do a trans swap before dropping it?
Can anyone chime in on this?

Re: Dropped with 4 spd?
I can't directly answer your question, however, in your sbc swap, did the swapper use the bell housing mounts or a rear trans crossmember (shouldn't be both)?
If the bell housing mounts were retained, then you can pretty much bet the trans is at the stick height. If they eliminated the bell mounts and added a trans crossmember, then all bets are off as to whether it's at the correct height. If it's not, would be concerned about driveline angles for the u-joints and phasing and all the shtuff. |

Re: Dropped with 4 spd?
I have recently did a 5.5"/6" drop on my GMC with a 4 speed Muncie. It does hang a tad bit lower than the frame but I still have 3" of clearance to ride comfortably. I hope this helps.

Re: Dropped with 4 spd?
Thanks for the replies guys. Glad to see there are some dropped 4 speeds out there. Looks like I will need to swap out the trans if I want to lay frame.
