Re: Twin Six
I don't know but that thing is crazy, 1500 pounds over the front wheels and only a lousy 250 HP, you can get that out of a 4 cylinder now. Even the torque isn't that much for what it is, I can see why they only built a few.

Re: Twin Six
Wishful thinking, I'd like to see three variations of a Twin Six. In a pickup, with the front of the engine in the same place as the V6, rear into the cab, between bucket seats. The other two would be in cab over trucks of the era, one a flat bed, the other made into a nice camper.
One of my neighbors has a fairly nice complete cab over just sitting in his pasture, covered over, engine dead. He wants me to rebuild the engine, 401 V6, 5 speed, two speed rear end. I want him to sell me the thing, as is. GIANT impasse. |

Re: Twin Six
You'd have to take out a loan to keep that thing in gasoline.

Re: Twin Six
I can't help but notice is those cheap exhaust tube bends off the header. They look like the ones you get at the auto parts store. Why not use Mandrel bent tubing? After all the work done to make that such a beautiful truck, seems like a odd thing to cheapen out on.

Re: Twin Six
sad thing , this guy (rapem pappy) also has a lot of cool restored 60-66's he built this one for the fun of it. I did a post about this truck a few years back and most people on here flamed him.... he did a few posts, but did not stick around.... one of the few times I have seen the hamb type mentality on this board.

Re: Twin Six
An incredible amount of work to be sure.
The long hood is an acquired taste, which is what alot of folks balked at. I don't mind the hood, bet it looks great from the driver's seat. I'd like it better with standard wheel wells though and less prominent zoomies, which I feel detracts from that awesome motor!
