Best ride -2500 or 2600 bags
Getting ready to order my bag kit and am wanting to know which bag provides the best ride. Through my research I have read that some people find the 2500 bags have a better ride. I was hoping there were some of you that have used both that can comment on this.
I am putting them in a 66 C20 Longbed Fleetside. Thanks

I'm getting ready to do this myself and would like to know the difference.

Re: Best ride -2500 or 2600 bags
1enick72...Here is a comment from SCOTI in another post that I found.
" I'll throw a wrench in the works & would do the opposite. I'd run larger bags in the front, smaller for the rear..... I found that lower air pressure does not always equal better ride quality. I realized this personally after RideTech recommended/spec'd the smaller bags for the truck arm C10 applications. I opted to use the same bags as the front (2600's/RE-7's) in my swb. To achieve my desired ride height (using only CPP bolt-in c-notches) required less than 30psi which caused the ride to be very spongy & 'bouncy'. If I added as little as 5psi, the ride improved but my stance/height took a hit. Smaller bags would have required slightly more pressure for the same amount of lift which for me would have been the sweet spot. The recommended ride height & pressures for each specific size/brand of air-spring are a key part to better ride quality. Of course, it would/could still work otherwise, but why spend the $$ on something when for the exact same cash outlay you can have something better? I suggest talking w/several vendors or manufacturers along w/members opinions to help form an educated decision. What bags you need should ultimately depend on the ride height your trying to achieve & the other parts you're using." The link to that post is http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ighlight=d2500 Was hoping to hear from others on this. Guess I will continue my research.

Re: Best ride -2500 or 2600 bags
I would still recommend the 7"/2600's for the front & 6"/2500's for the rear for the above listed reasons. I have them on my newest build as well (my 64 swb).

Re: Best ride -2500 or 2600 bags
Thanks SCOTI for chiming in. I assume that there are many factors when determining where the sweet spot is on airbags. I mean ride height and the sweet spot is subjective. Another person that prefers a little higher ride height than you or me for cruising (with the exact same setup), may prefer the 2600s instead. Or maybe their idea of sweet spot may be different as well. Then lets not forget all the other factors like tire size, cupped control arms, rear brackets, etc. All these also play into where the truck will sit at ones preferred sweet spot. With all that said, I guess there is really no way to determine which bags to go with until you get a set and install them with the rest of your setup.
At least this is kinda what I have come up with after thinking about it. Does this sound correct or am I way off?

Re: Best ride -2500 or 2600 bags
Thanks guys, great explination, makes perfect sense. This also works out perfectly since I just did some work for a guy and for payment I got a bunch of new parts, compressor, tanks, gauges, line and 2 2500 lb bags. Now just a few more parts and I'll have a bunch more work to do in the nasty heat
