Great looking truck, definetly a nice place to start. How intensive of a project is this going to be? Are you looking for improvements while keeping it a DD or is it going to be torn down?

Re: My new project 70 CST/10
Trevor,
Undecided! My wife and I are going to do the project together. But going to be a Street Rod not a back to original. Already have designed the color combo and what style and color of wheels. Now for all the dirty work. |

Re: My new project 70 CST/10
I gotcha, the sky's the limit for custom work that you can do from suspension to bodywork. When I'm looking for ideas I browse the projects section, the amount of creativity in there is unreal. Plus if you see something you really like you can get some details.
I like the idea of frame-offs so that you know exactly what your working with. It tends to be a can of worms but its better finding out all your issues earlier rather than after you've spent a bunch of cash. The downside is that these tend to eat up time you could be driving in an unfinished ride.

Re: My new project 70 CST/10
Welcome from Central Florida! Going to make a nice one. Start with all the safety stuff first, brakes, belts, hoses, etc. Tune up the engine and check all the wiring stuff. Get it where you can drive it then start on those rockers, a/c, etc.
Enjoy!

Re: My new project 70 CST/10
Yea! Not to custom. Clean and enjoyable.
Gong to get rid of trim, pos led lights rear pan instead of bumper, int. put A/C back in. already have replacement rocker panels and inside fenders skirts(they are cut up). Has new brakes on all four corners (whew! that would of hurt the budget) Been thinking of frame-off not sure if I have the room for that. My three car garage is used for my wife and I company. Might give me a good reason to build a new garage shop out back! LOL! |

Re: My new project 70 CST/10
I big welcome to ya from eastern AR. I'm in G town every week or so for my treatments that I have to take at the corner of poplar and Germantown parkway. It looks like you really have a heck of a good no wait, a great start on a truck project. It allready has the tilt and a few other of the wanted options that make these trucks more fun.

Re: My new project 70 CST/10
Thursday nights at Stage and Kirby Whitten..same parking lot as Jason's Deli and some chinese buffet... Some nights seem better than others..last time I was there you had classics, offroad Jeeps, imports, Mustang club of Memphis..and then some nights maybe half of them show up...haven't taken the truck yet but I am planning on it soon.

Nice looking truck! Looking forward to see what you do with it. Make sure to take your time taking the trim off...can get some decent money for it if it's nice....

Re: My new project 70 CST/10
driver's are the best...use it without worrying about scratching it I've said this on here before but out of all the trucks I've had so far, my patina truck was by far my favorite...even though most of the others were nicer....it was fun to drive and tinker on...only wish I could have afforded to keep it....
