newb...got some stuff, now what?..

Hey everyone...

So my brother owed me some money and he just gave me this equipment instead..

so, this is what i have to work with....

this was right after I gutted the rear cab. it's nice and clean now..

these are the toys i have to choose from...

I will most likely be building a sealed triangle box. I haven't done all the measurements yet but I was planning on doing that this weekend

I'm in the market for a new head unit, 6x9s in the rear corners and front dash speakers.

I'm not much for rap, I listen to country, classic rock and a little bit of new rock.

I'm not into this for the thump but I do want something i can blast while havin a cold one, hangin out on the tailgate.

just wanted some of your thoughts and ideas... Let me know what you guys think!

I'd try to run the Kickers, but the depth of your box will really determine whether or not it's possible. After you get the measurements, just make sure that after you mount the speaker that there will be at least 3/4" between the speaker vent (hole in the magnet) and the rear of the box.

I don't know how you feel about cutting up the truck, but if you're goal is to open the doors and kick a few back, I'd recommend putting the 6x9's in the doors instead of behind the seat. You probably can get away with just running those alone.

got the measurements.. doesn't look like either set of subs will fit with air space needed.. guess i'm just going to go with newer 6x9s and kicker panels.. I have an extra set of doors so I might try that route also...

Is it WAY off or just a little bit like a quarter cube? (Don't forget to subtract the volume the speaker takes up)

If it's less than a quarter of a cube, you could try it out and stuff it with polyfill.

Or, just sell it on CL or something and get a set that fits better...

you could save some money and buy this? i got one of those for my buddy for his jeep (99 wrangler) which behind the rear seat and the gate is not much space and that think is LOUD. and it sounds really really really good. country, rock, rap, reggae, it all sounds good. just a thought i guess if you wanted a sub thats still loud.

That L7 is the same size width wise as my L5 solo. with the box I won't have the leg room. I'm 6'1.. I'm planning on doing 2 pancake 10's with 2 8's in the doors.

I'd sell almost all of that on craigslist and get a couple of shallow mounts, and a better amp.

That sub is only a 10 inch. That box is only 10 inches deep at the bottom and under 7 near the top that's plenty of room behind the rear seat.

But that's just me I guess.

I would sell it all, and focus on 2 sets of components. A 4 or 5 channel amp. If you focus on isolation and deadeneding you may forget about subs
