52 chevy pickup s10 swap
i have a 1997 s 10 pickup .wanting to use steering column but dont know how i would wire it up to work signal lights and other stuff ,anybody have any ideas or is there a adapter kit?

you will need a wiring diagram for the 97 S-10 which you may be able to find online.
All of the GM steering columns with the flat connector plug have the same color coding but some vehicles have additional wires along with the standard wires that all of them have. Along the same line all of the GM wiring harneses to the tail, stop and turn lights are color coded the same. Meaning that the light brown wire does the same thing on every GM vehicle, the light green wire does the same thing on all of them and so on. If the S-10 had separate amber turn signals on the rear the turn signal wires will be separate from the brake light wires. That would require a separate turn signal bulb in the tail lights. it looks like you don't have that to worry about though. Last edited by mr48chev; 07-26-2012 at 11:17 PM. |
