Broken motor mount

Im surprised it took this long to break them to be honest.
Does anyone make a stronger than stock, yet bolt in replacement for our trucks?
The obvious would be to swap it to 73 and up mounts but I don't want to pull the motor.
Also, anyone got an example of a brace they use to hold the motor when it torques? I heard they made factory cables for the big block trucks before they changed the bbc mount style in 72, but I've never seen them.

There are a couple of pictures in this thread:

Both ends of the cable bolt to the same place on the drivers side. You can see the loop bracket riveted to the frame and the cable going through it. In the second picture on the passenger side it bolts to the exhaust manifold bolts and goes through the motor mount frame bracket.

Re: Broken motor mount

Thanks Lockdoc. I think I'll have to come up with something similar.
Prothane makes mounts but it doesn't say whether they have the integrated locking system for our truck mounts like they do for the 69 Camaro type ones. I don't think anybody sells prothane up here anyway so it'll prob be stockers with a brace

Re: Broken motor mount

Hey There 71/454,

The prothanes do interlock in case of breakage; that's what I have on my 70.
