Help Troubleshoot
My '69 with a 250 won't run. Running great last week, but all of a sudden it started to act like it was running out of gas an just died. At first I could let it sit for a few minutes and it would start, but as soon as I stepped on the pedal it would stall. Now it has been sitting for a few days and will hardly start at all.
I'm baffled because it was running so well and just quit. Some facts: -new coil and plugs. All the other ignition parts are recent. -carb kit this spring. -new fuel pump. -I blew out the fuel line and the filter. -yes, there is gas in the tank. Ideas? Posted via Mobile Device

'76 Sierra Grande (Orange) - hate isn't too strong a word. Kid who bought it turned it into a hot rod. '68 C-10 R.I.P. - Dad's old truck...too far gone to resurrect. '59 C-50 - with hoist. the way u describe it it sounds like a fuel issue. i know u said u blew it out but could the filter be plugged? what about the fuel pickup in the tank, do they have screens? maybe pull the line off the carb and crank it over and see if you get the proper flow psi/volume. and maybe you had some crap come loose in the carb and gum up the jets. just throwin some ideas out there.

I would also check the "sintered metal" filter in the carb inlet.They work well but do sometimes clog.
