steering column advice
im looking into buying a tilt steering column for my 72c10. just need advice on my options. i found a gm for $400 thats all original and is in pretty good shape. i guess my question is , is the gm worth it or should i spend a little extra and buy an ididit column. any advice would be appreciated.

Ididit steel tilt column, 369.50 from no limit. More if you want chrome, aluminum or powder coat. I think no limit gives a board discount as well. Mine is en route. When I get it in hand I'll have a better idea of what's involved in connecting it to the existing linkage and let you know.

In my opinion I would rather use an oem with all original parts. Most of the guys on ebay ask rather inflated prices I have seen these columns at a lot of swap meets bring under $200. I recently got one from craigslist for $165. I am not saying they are at every swap meet and every day on craigslist but they are out there.Be patient and sooner or later you will get one.

agreed - and, no offense to anyone who has one, but I think the ididit columns don't look quite right in a truck interior unless the interior is pretty modified. So if JUST looking for a tilt column and the rest is kinda stock, I definitely go with GM. Ididits are nice, but for me I'd take a stock GM over anything. Ididit is good quality - and GM is good quality and a known entity that you can fix just about anything on. My 2 cents only, you probably can't go wrong with either.

I shipped a scruffy GM tilt column to KevsClassics and got it back BEAUTIFULLY restored. Converted it from column shift auto to floor shift stick for me too. Looks/works GREAT.
