Crossmember Problems
Hello everyone just found the forum. Lots of beautiful trucks on here.
Got a question about my 1969 C10 LWB with a 350ci and 3 speed. I did not index the crossmember when I removed it. So is it in correctly? Now I swear the motor isn't sitting right. Can anyone take a look at these pictures and tell me what's up. It's sitting too low it seems on the firewall side. Thanks http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14487187/C10...%2048%20PM.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14487187/C10...%2052%20PM.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14487187/C10...%2055%20PM.jpg http://dl.dropbox.com/u/14487187/C10...%2006%20PM.jpg |

Re: Crossmember Problems
Welcome to the Truck Board from West Michigan!
I believe that the crossmember is made with a slight angle with the front of the crossmember higher then the rear. The automatics are made that way and I believe the sticks are two but I don't have a stick truck to check it out for sure. Jim

If you mean the back of the engine is sitting lower than the front it is supposed to. You check it by putting a small level on the intake where the carb bolts on. That should be level. If that isn't what you mean then disregard this post because I am lost... Oh, and to the board. LockDoc
