Re: 1971 cheyenne ochre/white/white/ochre
We'd have to see the spid and/or build/order sheet to know for sure....but there have been special order painted trucks from the factory that are documented on here...

Re: 1971 cheyenne ochre/white/white/ochre
The truck is painted in the style of the Deluxe Two-Tone option.
However all the factory codes in this style I can think of are white secondary based. It could be a dealer or post delivery paint scheme. It could also be a "special paint" truck (standard colors in a non-standard useage in this case), but without documentation its moot. The truck may very well be just a white and parchment truck. The belts seem to support the parchment interior. Overall there are a lot of details wrong on this truck and it dosen't seem as original as the ad copy would have you believe.

Take the pictures and blow them up 400% and/or run them through a slide show repeatedly on your computer in "pan and zoom" mode. Then tell me what looks out of place.

Backinblack, I see some green paint on the firewall. So it looks like a repaint to me.

It also shows to be in Canada. That may mean a few different options in paint and other items.Ice Coral Pink comes to mind.

Re: 1971 cheyenne ochre/white/white/ochre
well i emailed the guy and asked for a pic of the spid this is what he sent me, cheyenne package is not n it, custom sport truck is listed, i tought the cst package wasnt available in 71-72 but i wasnt sure what set of numbers to check on the spid for the yr of the truck, there is a special paint code listed though but some how im thinking its not for the paint scheme that this truck has, anyways heres the spid picture

Re: 1971 cheyenne ochre/white/white/ochre
Well, It seems closer to as it shows than I thought. I wasn't really expecting a Cheyenne with special paint without gauges. Anyway the SPID does look very close to the pictures. The Cheyenne package replaced the CST for the '71 MY but the RPO code remained the same Z84. Don't try to read significance into RPO description variationss. They were not, apparently, standardized between plants or years. Go with the RPO code and remember GM gave up on RPO descriptions on later vehicles altogether.
Special Paint is exactly that. Non-standard! Could be just about anything. Most people think special paint only means a special color. But as in this case, as many do, it just represents stock colors used in a reverse of production Deluxe Two-Tone as I had suspected. On a Camaro around this period, a stripe delete classified a car as special paint on the trim tag. Overall the options are nice and it is a bit different with the ochre as an accent if that is what it is (looks more like a dark gold to me). Might be worth having but that engine is a long way from "matching numbers" unless he is only considering an untouched short block. There are lots of hints of rework and repaint all over that truck and a useable, original wood bed would suprise me. However I don't think he is going to trade for your engine/trans 1972BackInBlackC10.

Steve, Did you find an eBay add as well? All I found were Kijiji ads for the seller.

Re: 1971 cheyenne ochre/white/white/ochre
Thanks for shedding some light on this Tim, I'm not trying to make a deal with the guy, I just came across the truck and thought the color combo seemed unusual for a Cheyenne so I thought I'd see what others had to say about it

Re: 1971 cheyenne ochre/white/white/ochre
I've seen Canadian members post from Kijiji and figured it was a classifieds site like Craigslist. So,it is actually based in Ireland? Huh,pretty cool. So,which pronunciation would be correct?
In WVA there's a river and an area called Opequan. I was at a bar (Opequan Inn) talking to a gal and said,"O pee quan",and she said,"You ain't from around here, are ya? It's "O peck in". lol

Re: 1971 cheyenne ochre/white/white/ochre
The only thing I learned is it's from Ireland. My questions were how is it pronounced and what are the name's origins...like what is a kijiji?
