3.07 posi gear set

SOLD!!! I have a posi gear set from a 70 1/2 ton truck. Everything looks great except the ring gear has rust on one side from water condensation from sitting in one place for years. I recommend changing out the ring rear. $150 plus shipping. DesertCat is first up.
Thanks,
Ray

Re: 3.07 posi gear set

I'll get in line after DesertCat. This is the ring and pinion and posi case removed from the housing and shipped? Shipping to 30127? I would want all the sims and spacers with the carriers bearing sides marked for easy install. Thanks, Dan

I GUESS I DIDN'T TYPE FAST ENOUGH!!!!

Re: 3.07 posi gear set

From what I understand, this is a 3 series unit and Richmond makes gears up to the 4.56 that will fit this. But for stock gearsets you would want a 4 series unit for 3.73 and numerically higher. I am no expert on this... that is just the info I have read about it. YMMV...

That is my understanding as well. Aftermarket gearsets from 3.73 up that fit on the 3-series are made special and won't fit onto factory 4-series carriers. I believe the ring gears are thicker. You can also get spacers to enable using oem style 4-series rings on 3-series carriers.
